Navajo Road
The Navajo Road Condominiums are designed as a physical response to California’s high desert climate. The roof of the building has long overhangs and wraps down the southern façade to create a solar shield to keep the building shaded. This configuration allows the other facades to have large expanses of glass, which open to the common areas of the site. Occupants have plenty of natural light and a connection to the landscape, without the discomfort of excessive heat gain. The common areas feature native plants that reduce water use, and each unit has a brick patio and private rear yard.
